  • Think everyday early 2000s fashion, not costumes! Imagine heading to the mall with your friends in 2002. Baby tees, denim skirts, cargo pants, Juicy tracksuits, rhinestones, platform shoes, butterfly clips, trucker hats, and shoulder bags are all great choices.

  • Not at all! Beginners are always welcome, and this event is designed to be fun for first-time contestants and experienced competitors alike.

  • Belle of the Ball’s Y2K It Girl Pop-Up Pageant is a Soft Beauty style competition. We celebrate confidence, personality, and individuality while keeping the overall look age-appropriate and elegant.

    Contestants are welcome to enhance their look with age-appropriate makeup, styled hair, hair extensions, and spray tans if they choose, but these enhancements are not required. We encourage contestants to embrace their natural beauty and feel confident being themselves.

    Our competitions feature simple, confident walks, no complicated routines, tricks, or dance performances are required. We want contestants to focus on stage presence, personality, and having fun!

    This is not a glitz pageant. We are looking for polished, beautiful, and age-appropriate looks. Glitz-style gowns, heavy stage makeup, or over-the-top styling are not the focus of Belle of the Ball.

    Come as your most confident self and let your personality shine!

  • No! A hotel stay is not required to participate.

    If you would like to make a weekend out of the experience or prefer to stay overnight, we recommend a nearby hotel option that is convenient and budget-friendly. Our host hotel is currently sold out, but there are affordable accommodations nearby, including:

    The hotel is only about a 10-minute drive from the venue, giving contestants and families plenty of time to get ready and arrive comfortably. Our event will have a later start time of 10:00 AM, so there is no need to rush!
